Religion, the opium of the masses
As children,we sat around our elders listening to stories and legends and we tend to listen intently and believed everything said without question. We also took superstitions seriously and taboos were followed to the letter if they had connections with ghosts and the supernatural.
Likewise religion falls into the same category. Anything to do with religion becomes a sensitive issue which everyone fears to comment on or question. Thus, some politicians even use dirty tactics in the name of religion to stay in power or to win the hearts of the people. When politicians use religion as a tool to achieve their aims, the said religion falls from grace. Religion is one's personal communion with God. It cannot be used as a political weapon against the masses or to win the hearts of the masses.Quoting Osama bin Laden," 'insulting drawings' was a greater crime than western forces targeting and killing women and children," unquote. He addressed this to the European Union. In another 5 minute audio message titled, "May our mothers be bereaved of us if we failed to help our prophet," he warned that the response will be,"what you see, not what you hear."
My silent prayer is, OH GOD PLEASE HELP THE WORLD!
