The Odd Couple--- Episode 2

"George, have you read the morning news?" enquired Martha as she sipped her cup of coffee at the breakfast table.
"No Martha," answered George as he prepared his breakfast.
"Well, there has been a spate of robberies of late in the neighbourhood," she continued, "You know Mrs Hunter don't you?"
"Yes Martha".
"She was robbed last night. Poor Mrs Hunter. She needs our sympathy you know."
"Yes Martha," George nodded his head as he walked out the front door paying little interest to what Martha had to say.
He drew out his lighter, lit a cigarette and then opening his car door, he was in no time speeding down the road and out of sight.
A few moments later George reappeared at his driveway. He secured the front gates and locked the front door of the house and made his way up the flight of stairs leading to his bedroom.
"Aah... its time for my nap", he thought as he plunged himself into his bed. George had hardly settled himself between the sheets when he heard a commotion rudely waking him up from his forty winks.
He looked out the window only to recognise a familiar figure outside the gates.
"George! George! What have you done to the locks?
"Oh! Oh! George exclaimed as he hurried down the stairs.
