'Oh' for those memorable days...

“Until the monsoon breaks, the summer sun is going to be terribly hot and scorching”, said I to my daughter, who was overwhelming at the very thought of summer vacations and the ensuing summer camps and workshops in which she every year actively takes part and wins loads of cheers and applauds from all her teachers and trainers.

She thought for a while and her eyes lit up in sheer excitement and she said,” Papa, when the premonsoon showers break we would run out and play and dance in the rain.” I was so amused to find her so excited for the showers and rains and said rains were still far away. Still hesitatingly she smiled and said, “Oh, Papa it used to be a fun…..”.

Those were the days when the childhood in her used to be so wild and full of strength and virility that she used to not to miss out any event or occasion and would see that she enjoyed to the fullest. But now she has grown up and often asks where have my childhood days gone?

I have a different perspective towards life and believe that one should not change with the changing times and the child within us should always be awakened so as to relive our past and should do all those things that we were often deterred to not to do, often by our parents and our teachers and elders for they saw things differently, from a different angle and perspective.

How vividly I still remember that during the monsoons we used to sail paper boats in the rain water and danced and had full masti when it rained continuously for many many days. Yes we danced and played in the rain without fear of getting cold or any ailment. All these incidents bring forth the memorable child hood and past days which I think can never come back to me!

Keep smiling & Happy Blogging!
