Drugs - A Slow Death!

There are innumerable methods to end one’s life. Our present youth enjoy seem to enjoy a pleasurable but slow death in the form of drug addiction. This trend has been on a rise in the recent times. The idea of taking drugs seems like heaven in the initial stage and till one realises that it is hell in the disguise of heaven, it’s too late.
Scientific development till date rests at man’s feet. It is the slave, which cannot be given liberty or freedom because it then refuses to serve and tends to become the master. In case of drug addiction it’s the same problem. We allow chemicals invented by man to control our actions, reveal our emotions and regulate our behaviour. At this point, man becomes a slave of his own creation.
Drug addiction can be described as death wrapped in a gift-wrap. It tastes sweet initially but the core turns out to be sour. It is very temporary and leads to ruination of not only one life but also the life’s attached to it. Every drug addict walks his own way to destruction and after a certain junction he loses control. At this particular point drugs take control of him and make him work to their pleasure, which rests in the eradication of the body.
Is human life so difficult that man himself cannot handle it and need explosives like drugs to blow up his own life? Has human sorrow increased to such a level that destruction of one’s self can only reduce it? Or has man lost the love for simple pleasure’s of life and need an extreme method like drug addiction to impart pleasure into his life? Life is not given to end it with such unworthy causes. Respect and treasure the gift of life because there lays all the other materialistic and short-term pleasures. It is well said that, ‘ Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies within us while we are alive.’
