Padlasovy vyber - Popo, English version

When I started to sing in Padlasovy vyber, it has four members: Pigos - guitar, Tuky - bass guitar, Popo - drums an d me as vocalist.

I would like to write about Popo, although it is very difficult for me. I never realy know him. He talked with me only sometimes ( I was 15 and he 35) and he played in our group only for short time. But it was different from period, when he left us. Second reason why it is so difficult is that I do not know if i can write about someone´s problems. Popo had big problem - alcohol. But you can see what alcohol can cause.

Out second performance was in metropolis of middle Slovakia - Banska Bystrica. We ought to meet in front of cultiral house at 8:00, but when I came there, nobody waited. I found Tuky sleeping on the chairs inside the cultural house and he said me about party day before. They drank! While he was washing, I called to Popo. He informed me, he has to cut the wood and so he has no time for any concert. I was realy scared. Pigos did not have telephone, so we had to pick him up. He lives 200 meters above the square in the sheer slope. But it was not everything. We had to put drums to the car. Only people who work with drums know, what does it mean. At the place we came as seriouse music group.

It was not always with such happy end. The worst performance I experienced was Huritan festival in 1996. It was at the open air and suddenly the storm came. While we were waiting for it pass, the men drank. I stood on the stage, thousand faces before me and drunk men behind me. Popo fell from chair behind drums, and he could not hit them with stiks. I was not able to perceive what happend because of big fear. But people liked it and we had a long applauze.

After performance Tuky came to me and reproached me that I did not smile to viewers. They were not able to play, but I was blamed. Well now, life is life.
