Children are often seen being scolded by their parents for not studying or for not getting good marks. Parents do so as they know without study it is impossible to make a bright career but is it the right way to make them understand the value of education? Will it help them to take interest in studies? I think this method often back fires. Then what are the methods which can help children take interest in studies? Let us have a view over them.

1. Become their friend – First of all become their good friend and try to grasp their problems. They may be facing some problems and may be in the need of some help. Your friendly attitude can be a great help for them to solve their problem. If their problems are solved they will definitely perform well in studies.
2. Stop criticizing – Even if children get less marks or are unable to concentrate on their studies never apply the policy of criticism. It is of no use and produces negative results only. It makes the mind dull. Learn to motivate them. Motivation is the effective method to help them get some interest in studies.
3. Use play way methods – Parents often say that children learn playing games even without being guided. How are children able to do so without any guide lines? In fact these games are so thrilling that children automatically develop interest in learning them. This interest helps them learn how to operate them. Here is the another tip to help children develop interest. Use play way methods. There are many education games in the market which can be used to explain the things.
4. Pacify their curiosity – Let children ask as many questions as they want. It helps them learn more. Children develop interest in studies when they are no longer compelled to rote the chapters. Do not make your children to have only bookish knowledge. Let them explore the academic world.
5. Never compare – Mostly elders have the habit of comparing their children with other children. Their this habit gives a hard punch to the self confidence of children. Constant comparison weakens their self image and as a result they lose their all interest in studies. Every child is unique in his own way. Let him be original. Praise him even if he gets less marks in examination. Your moral support will encourage him to improve his percentage next time.
