I don’t have class, but I went to school, to submit some requirements. I lack sleep, and my head hurts. Because I haven’t really slept.

As I have mentioned in my last entry, this week would be a busy one for me. Yeah, I mean it. Last martedi, we went to Dangwa to buy flowers for the wedding of our client. I was so ecstatic when I stepped in that place. It was a very long time ago since I went there. It was a paradise of flowers for me.

We always purchase flowers from that place, but I don’t go with them when they buy. As soon as we gor there, we started hunting for the freshest flowers on its lowest price. My aunt was asking me if I had an idea already for the bridal bouquet, and I said yes, although I was sort of surprised. I was still thrilled that I’m gonna be designing the bridal bouquet, although it’s my second time. Actually, I don’t have an idea, except that the flowers would be roses in blood red, or gala red in color, as the flower merchants refer to them.

Then my aunt was asking me these kinds of questions, “what do you think of this color?”, “shall we get long-stemmed or short stemmed roses” and “do you think it’s fresh” or “do you think this would last until the wedding?”, and I really felt as if my opinions really mattered. Actually my opinions really mattered, because when I told my aunt what do I think, she follows it. It means she trusts me lin choosing the right flowers, unlike my other aunt (Ellen), who keeps on telling me what to do. That time, I was so happy because I could show my own creativity without any hesitation.

So, all in all, we bought chrysanthemums in different colours, pondeminium leaves, asparagus vines, anahaw leaves, baby’s breath flowers, that green, tiny flowers (which they didn’t plan to buy, that’s why I told them over and over to buy, and finally they bought them and I shut up), leaves that I don’t know the name and white, fuschia pink, gala red (or blood red), peach, two-toned (pink and white) and yellow (which was very expensive and very hard to find) roses. We got home when we’re satisfied.

Oh, and yeah, I saw Caroline in the underpass. Thank goodness she was alone. I don’t know if she saw me, but I pretended that I didn’t see her. You know, we don’t have the car, so we gotta commute.

We ate at Chowking, wherein my cugina Jaimie showed up. After that we went to their house and started working with the flowers as soon as we get there. My zia (Rebecca) took care of the aisle flowers, which I had no interest in doing it (because it was very old-fashioned) while I did the maid of honor’s and bridesmaids’ bouquets.

I enjoyed working on the bouquets, because the flowers were plenty and I wasn’t limited to use few of them. I used all the roses of different colors as well as the yellow-green blossoms I insisted to buy. I fell in love with the bouquets. I’ll post a picture of the flowers when I get home.

I did eight bouquets for the secondary sponsors, then, helped my zia doing the boutonierres. Instead of using orchids (which we didn’t plan to buy and use at all because it’s very common here in the country, and besides that it’s very old -fashioned, if you ask me), we used white and peach roses. I did a little of that because my zia told me to work on the bridal bouquet. I was scared, because it’s my first time to use roses in a bridal bouquet, let alone it was only my second time doing bridal bouquets, and I think I sucked in my first time (with the stupid, hollad tulips). I was “inexperienced”. Therefore, I still obliged.

First, I started rounding up the roses, which took me an hour and a half. Then I tied it with the flower wire, which was the most difficult job of all. On my first attempt, the bouquet seemed so shapeless, even though nobody told me. I had to repeat it, not only once, but thrice. When I finally got it right, I had my aunt to help me tie a white ribbon around the stems, which will serve as the handle. I used the style I learned from the Better Homes Magazine. Boy, it was so hard.

Then my zia who was working on the aisle suggested that I should put pondemonium leaves around the roses instead of tulle. That was a great idea, I, too, think. But the problem was, the pondeminium leaves were nowhere to be seen. So I finished the boutonierres, while my aunt who supposed to be doing it, looked for the pondemonium leaves. There, she found it at the bottom of the basin wherein we soaked the yellowgreen blossoms and some of the baby’s breath flowers.

I had her to help me with finishing the bouquet. We finished it around midnight. Then she told me that the bride paid extra because she wanted another bouquet, which she will use in bouquet tossing, for she wanted to keep the red ones.

So I made another one, which was lighter in color from the original. I just used yellow, peach, baby pink and white roses for it, and instead of using pondemonium, I used the long, yellowgreen and dark green leaf around it. I guess, we ran out of pondemonium. We finished all of it nearly three in the morning.

I just slept in hthe big couch, even though they have many rooms. It was all occupied and I don’t wanna share bed with someone.

I woke up after three hours to go home and ready myself for school. You know. I had to go to school because I have to do another massive report again in my tourism class.

I went home after my aunt gave paid me six hundred bucks. Wheeeeeee! It’s the biggest amount of money I received since I started my job being the youngest florist in the business.
