Dicembre Diciotto, 7:27

What a busy week I had. Prelims, tryouts, training, parties and work, all worned me out. The worst thing about that worned-out thing, it makes me bigger. I mean, I get fat, if I get worn out. Seriously. Because if I’m stressed and tired, I always eat a lot, for some unknown psychological reason and that’s a very dangerous thing, if you ask me. Hello, as if I’m not fat already.

Last Giovedi, I tried out for the volleyball team. Man, I sucked, but those first years sucked more than I did. That day, I have other things to do when I went to school (printing out my project and Jed’s because my printer doesn’t have ink, for example), but when I saw the ball in the Old Hotel Room, I forgot everyrthing else I had to do. I missed playing volleyball so much that I didn’t even change my clothes for the try out. Well, I changed but it’s just when the try out got serious.

I saw Jamil, and he’s there for the try out too. Golly, I’ve never noticed that he’s cute. With that goatee and trimmed facial hair, man, he’s a total babe. Too bad he has a girlfriend already, because I saw him once with her, holding hands and busy with flirting with each other. Yuck. Anyway, I’ve known him for like months, but I seriously never appreciated his hotness, maybe because of Patrick. I could say that Jamil’s look is what exactly I like. By five-thirty, the captain ball showed up. God, why is the world dominated by Caucasians? Anyway, she looks mean, so I got nervous all over and sucked when she asked me to serve. Jesus, the ball never crossed, but at least, it touched the net. I hate that kind of try outs.

When we got into a game, I started to relax and played a little better. Just like the old times, I blocked, digged, and spiked and all, but it wasn’t as intense like it used to be. Greg, the male team captain and setter compared me to a famous volleyball player, and I don’t see why. You know, my height is far from her and she’s really good, and never misses a spike. Also, I have bigger legs. I got flattered and blushed, but I told myself that it’s just a false flattery, because there’s no way I could play like her. Man, that particular volleyball player was so good.

We lost the round, and the captain gathered us. Fortunately, she said that that the girls who tried out for the team was only nine, and she needed twelve for the line up, so all of us could get in. Woohoo. At first, I was skeptic. I doubted that I could get into the team because she seemly not to like me because she glares at me whenever I do something wrong. I wasn’t confident, as a matter of fact. But I told myself quickly that I could do it because of some factors. It should be the height advantage because I was practically the tallest among the girls who tried out, although my height is just regular.

The try out for girls had ended, but I stayed and watched Jamil, trying out. He’s good. I got all bored and played with some old varsities. They said I was good enough. Whoohoo.

I went home, all tired and sweaty. I rested for a while before washing. I ate dinner and read “Labyrinth” before going to sleep.

The next day (Venerdi), was the last day of the prelims. I went home early and just took a day off.

Samedi was Baby Sam’s christening party. I thought twice of coming because I had the a samedi-class. Then I decided to come and go directly to my cousin Sheryl’s house, because it’s the meeting place. But there’s one problem; I wasn’t dressed for the ocassion, but then I was determined to go so I called up at our house and asked them to bring clother for me.

My relatives started to arrive one by one, and we’re bit delayed because of me, because I asked my mom to look for this particular brown shirt I wanted to wear for the party. We left when I got dressed and there’s this heavy traffic on the road, so we got extra delayed.

At last, we arrived on the Tramway Restaurant, wherein friends and other relatives of the kid where waiting. And there’s my cousins Marie and Rowena, with their Mom and my nieces, Eliza and Em. Well, my cousin Marie was five months pregnant, but I didn’t notice the difference. Honestly, she’s just as big as she used to be.

We got in and started taking pictures of ourselves. When it’s time to eat, we ate as if there’s no tomorrow. It’s eat all you can, for your information, but I couldn’t hold more food anymore so I got to stop. As the matter of fact, I didn’t eat so much as much as others did because I’m not fond of Chinese food. I just ate the desserts and dumplings.

By two o’clocj in the afternoon, we all went home. We had our house cleaned up.

The next day (Dimanche) was the recollection day. I was so bored and I just went to my cousin’s house to take care of the baby. My mom called because Benedict’s mother was looking for me. She needed me to do his project. What a lazybone. I hurried home, but before I left my cousin told me to come back the next day to come with her and baby because it’s his monthly check-up.

I went to Ben’s house and had his project done. I let him settle for the night whilst I solved the math problems due Lunedi. Good thing, there’s these two carpenters working inside the tile design of their house til midnight so I wasn’t alone working. The maids were all up too, so I had some people to talk to. Well, not exactly to talk to, but to hear them talking with each other was kind of amusing. I swear, the younger tile cutter was gorgeous. I can’t believe my eyes how gorgeous was. I finished off the project by midnight and went home ahead of them.

Lunedi: I woke up four-thirty in the morning to prepare for my first ever training under Coach Rodney. I was so early, because I heard they usually starts by six am. Actually, I was the first person there, and I thought of going home. Good thing, I stayed. Coach Rodney arrived and told me to do two-hundred free throws. And more dribbling. Until now, my arms hurt.

My other team mates started to arrive and we got working. By nine, the coach let us go and I preceed to my cousin’s house. I was an hour late. We got going and had the baby checked. According to the doctor, he’s in very good condition. No rashes, no cold and no allergies, thanks to the people who takes care of him. If you count us all, there are seven people who takes care of Sam. He had his seventh injection. One thing I like about this baby; he doesn’t cry much. He cries if it’s necessary to, and only if he’s hurt. When we send him to sleep, we never had a problem. We just carry him and sing a little and he’s off for the night. Mom said he was easy to take care of, unlike me, who was difficult since baby. That’s so true.

Sometimes, the baby and I watch television for one whole day.

Here’s how I take care of the baby:

He wakes up eleven in the morning. His mom’s sister, Jeanette gives him a bath. I dress him up with shorts and sando and cleans his ears using q-tips. I give him milk and cuddles him. When he gets bored, I talk to him and he just laughs and laughs and laughs, until he gets hungry. Then, I give him milk. Sometimes, he takes a nap, and after that, we watch television. Taking pictures is one of our routines. I give him milk before he go to sleep for the night.

I was so tired yesterday because the baby was crying; he won’t settle for the night because the injection hurt. I went home, read before sleeping and woke up so late today. I did Ben’s project and cooked lunch and chilled. I read before aving my afternoon nap. When I woke up, I took a bath and had FRIENDS marathon. Jenny gave the tapes to me, two years ago, and I just found it the other day in my highschool paraphernalias when I was looking for something. God, I really miss Jenny. The opening of the show made me a little bit sad because it reminds me of Jenny and my other friends. I never foreseen it coming; you know, the time we have to part ways. Good thing, nowadays, we have telephones, cellular phones, internet and all, so it’s not that hard to hear from your friends.
