Holi is the Worst Festival of India – Increasing Crime and Hooliganism

In theory Holi is a festival of love, friendship and joy among people of various castes communities in India. But the real picture is quite disturbing.

Almost two weeks before Holi young boys start taking liberty and harassing others, especially females, and have animal fun.

Open Molestation of Women

Most of the places in India are considered insecure for women. And Holi seems a real terror for them. They fear to go out. Boys tease
them with offensive words and throw balloons on them. There may be water or color in the balloons. At several places they even throw eggs.

When Girls are Unable to Take Examinations

One of my friends told that on 20th March in the morning two girls were injured while they were going to appear for their board examination. A group of boys threw water balloons and eggs on them. One eye of a girl was badly injured. Their clothes were spoiled. Shocked, they rushed back to home. One of the girl was unable to take the examination. How terrible!

Court Should Appoint a Monitoring Committee

Millions of women in India face such sort of inhuman treatment but the police and the law mostly continue sleeping. The court must appoint a monitoring committee to keep a vigil that women in the country are protected. Unfortunately the law and the police say that
women should come forward to complain and make them act. It is impractical. People have already lost faith in police.

When every body knows that Holi causes harassment, abuse, injuries and street quarrels then how can everybody be a silent spectator?

Honorable Court must rise with a determination to save the citizens. And what do all those women's organization do at such occasion?
