DIVINE PURPOSE OF LIFE

We are on this earth for a definite purpose i.e. to reclaim our lost divine heritage as children of God. We are the temple of God and the spirit of God dwell in us. We all know this but not realized it.There is a difference between theoretical understanding of the science of religion ,soul and the direct perception of God.

Mankind faces a number of problems in this world like prejudice, selfishness,hatred.There is a struggle between this "ism" and that "ism" and each group feels that its "ism"is better than another's.But why donot we think that although we are different but are the children of the one God.God has everything in the universe but with one exception i.e. he is crying for the love of his children - you and me and all of us .All of the scriptures of the world say that we are made in God's image .If this is so,why don't we know that we are taintless and immortal as he is?

Our mind is like a lake .When it is still ,the moon is reflected clearly therein.But if we put pebbles or a stone into the lake ,then we can see the distorted image of the moon as the ripples caused by the pebbles have disturbed the smooth surface of the water.In the same way man's mind is rippled constantly by pebbles of moods,emotions,habits acquired in this and past lives which make it impossible for him even to think clearly that the reflection of God is within himself.

How is it possible to cultivate stillness and clear perception?The yogis of ancient India discovered that by certain scientific techniques it is possible to still the mind that there is not a ripple of restless thought disturbing or distracting it.By regular practice of yoga with steady attention the time will come when you suddenly realize that I am not this body ,though I use it to communicate with this world; I am not this mind with its emotions of anger ,jealousy ,hatred,greed,restlessness.I am that wonderful state of consciousness within .
