Akshar Dham Temple

Akshardham means the eternal, divine abode of the supreme God, the abode of eternal values and virtues of Akshar as defined in the Vedas and Upanishads where divine bhakti, purity and peace forever . The magnificent Akshardham Temple in Delhi has been constructed under the patronage of the Bochasanvasi Aksharpurushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) and was inaugurated on November 7, 2005.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by President APJ Abdul Kalam . Akshardham Temple Complex in Delhi is the recent addition made to the tourist attraction list of Delhi. The Temple built near the Akshardham Flyover in the East Delhi ait took more than 2 years for construction and costed around Rs.2 billion, funded by millions of Bochasanvasi Aksharpurushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha area temple has 234 ornate pillars, 20,000 statues and many arches.
It is one of the wonders of the modern world, and the wonders of modern India.
