OF MARRIAGE, FAMILIES, THE WORLD !

Marriage expands families because it is not just about the couple, marriage also inevitably involves the couple's families.

I know someone who came from a small family to begin with. An only child of an only child who married someone whose two living siblings at the time of marriage wss a spinster and a brother with an only child based overseas!

When my friend got married, her family instantly expanded to include another set of parents, several siblings of her husband, and the in-laws from marriages into this family. Then, the children came along resulting in the further growth of the family unit.

Like a droplet in a pond that creates ripples that expand into bigger circles, so is marriage.... droplet after droplet ever expanding into small circles that become indistinct and develop into bigger wider circles--> the original patriarch and matriarch, the original children with their wives and husbands, the grandchildren, their own wives and husbands and the children of the grandchildren and so on and so on!

What began as " You and Me " has evolved into a community, a country, a continent, the whole world!

Indeed, marriage is not just about the couple!
