The Thrill of Publishing

There is a certain thrill that goes with seeing your name in print. A feeling so pleasurable it's somewhat silly. I just published a book of short stories titled The City on a site called lulu.com, and the happiness of seeing my book cover each time i visit the site overshadows the fact that probably no one has seen it in the past one week.At this rate it should just have dawned on me probably no one's going to buy it, but that doesn't make me less happy. Now I wonder briefly however, if bestselling authors do feel the same way. But I guess not. I am thinking it would be a rude blow to the ego of a famous author if it seemed no one was interested in their latest offering. Anyway,here's an extract from my book for reading pleasure, this one is from a short story called The Trees.It's a subliminal look at female stereotyping.It's one of my favourite stories actually. find it attached below, and enjoy.
