Consciousness and Inert Matter

Whatever we see and feel around us may be divisible into two - one is conscious and other is inert matter. All living beings are conscious whereas all material objects from atom to celestial bodies are inert and unconscious. Where there is consciousness there is life; but unconscious matter is lifeless.
Consciousness and life has real existence. A conscious being can tell or express that it exists. Whereas matter cann't tell that it exists. So matter has no real existence. Scientifically matter is a form of energy and sum total of all positive and negative energies in the universe is zero.
Hence matter has no real existence. If at all it exists, it exists in the consciousness of living beings only. Consciousness is the locus around which this illusory material world is projected.
Consciousness is real, eternal and without a beginning and without an end. So this consciousness is the divine force in the universe. The source of consciousness in living beings is the Soul(atman) in them. At death when this soul departs, body remains behind as dead matter. No force can put life in a dead body. So this consciousness and life is everything for a being. This conscious Soul may simply be termed as Self of a being.
The same consciousness and the same life exists in all beings. There is no difference and no plurality. If any external God exists, then His consciousness and life shall be the same as is found in all beings. So instead of trying to realise the consciousness of any external God one should try to realise one's own Self. Because no reality other than this universal consciousness exists. Any God other than this reality is purely imaginary created by religious leaders and scriptures. To realise this reality is peace and freedom and to accept other imaginary realities is bondage and sorrow.
