To salt or not to salt

Some scientists say about the salt, that man cannot digest salt; it is in no way useful to our body. Salt does not posses necessary vitamins and minerals. Is a poisonous substance, the important organs that are affected because of the salt we take are kidney, liver, heart, blood vessels and brain. Moreover, salt is a waterlog, and hence the water present in the body can not be used when it is needed. For every gram salt excreted, 70 gm of water which present to neutralize it is also flushed out.
I think that they correct to some extent. The salt does has its usefulness for some part of mankind. There are people with low blood pressure and the deficit of salt can make such people nauseate, dizzy and feel tired.
So, there is the question- to salt or not to salt?
My family has a history of high blood pressure, my dad died of stroke. So yes, I avoid seasoning my family's food at all cost. Thankfully, my husband understands that and my daughter is used to it, since I cook that way since she was a little girl.
There is ways to get taste into food without using salt. You should always have a little salt in a broth but you can also use a salt-substitute and also this gives you a reason to try some alternates to some classic recipes.
I've used a salt substitute for years, so I'm used to not using salt in our food.
Have you tried that Mrs. Dash Seasoning? I use it a lot in summer time on grilled foods. It is really delicious on food and it is salt free seasoning made with an all natural blend of herbs and spices.
Besides, salt free diet plays key role in reducing weight.
So, thanks to not using salt in our food I am still in good shape.
