"MALL" means TAMBAYAN to many Filipino's.

Here in the Philippines there are so Many Malls build....especially where i live..in my town Pampanga. There are 5 Malls here. In Angeles City there are 2 malls, NEPO MALLS AND JENRA MALL, there's a rivalry between the two, 'Cause this malls are nearby to each other.. A local Malls here in Pampanga. Then the so called "Nationwide and Popular Mall in the Philippines" The SM MALL.. I think there 30 malls located all over the Philippines and the Biggest mall is MALL of ASIA was recently build last May 21, 2006 and the largest mall in ASIA.

The Filipino people loves going on mall..not to shop but to "tambay" means Stay on mall but not buying at all. yeah we loves to go on mall..Family get together, Friends are bonding..even a meeting place for textmate.
Students Hangout. Chatting all day long, sometimes they end up until the mall closing. You know the first reason why filipino loves going on mall is just beacause the climate of the phillipines is about 32 degrees farenheit., Oh that's HOT..So the logic is Mall is a Centralized aircondition the better place for refreshing, cooling yourself,,hehe..This the Filipino treat our Mall..Convenient Ha! COOL...

The other two Located at San Fernando, NLEX and Clark (formerly U.S. Military Air Base. now is a biggest Industrial and Economic Zone in Pampanga.
