Parent Teacher Meetings..

Parents sometimes utter priceless gems that make others to burst into uncontrollable laughter. Regularly the parents have to attend the parent-teachers meetings. So for my two children, I along with my wife have had enough meetings to attend in two prestigious schools of the city of Chandigarh. These meetings were more of some amusing experiences besides the discussions regarding the academic development of the kids. My observance was that teachers and parents interacted and focused on quarterly results and on the sporting activities in which our children were actively involved. Sometimes function or rehearsals were the topic of discussions. But strangely some of the parents, who somehow managed to get their kids admitted, were low on educational as well as general knowhow aspects.

One mother, who had had enough scoldings from the teacher, said “I have no complain from her, she wakes up in time and even dresses up and packs her bag, but I don’t know why she doesn’t wake me up to drive her to school.” The other one retorted saying that, ‘My girl is slow in English’ please push her. One frantic lady whose husband seemed to be in other class attending meeting of other child, when asked by the teacher about her husband said, “My husband has just passed away, shall I call him.” One fat boy was being grilled by the class teacher for getting fatter each passing day, when his mother said, “I want my son to lose weight, but at home I cannot refuse him food and he eats all the time, please do something for him.”
