How animal meat is transformed into human meat!
From the moment the piece of meat is put into our mouth, until this piece of meat is completely used up by the body, this mouthful of food takes a long journey.
This piece of meat is gripped by the lips and is ground by the teeth, pounded by the tongue and mixed with the saliva and then swallowed. The moment this is being swallowed the two pathways, namely lungs and the nose close and the food follows the only one way open for the mouthful of it that is the esophagus. The muscles of the oesophagus propel the food towards the stomach.
When it arrives in the stomach, the ball of food is again pounded and crushed as if it were in a food mixer. It is also mixed with juices produced by the stomach. These prepare it for digestion. Digestion takes place in the small intestine. Here substances called digestive enzymes from the pancreas and intestine itself attack the most abundant material in the meat i.e. the meat proteins. These enzymes work most effectively at body temperature. These proteins are rapidly broken down into smaller units called ‘amino acids’.
So this is what digestion is. Or we may call the breaking down of food into particles small enough to pass into the blood. Amino acids are small enough to pass through the small intestine and the walls of the blood vessels. They are carried by the blood and lymph into the cells.
In the cells, the amino acids are attached to each other to form new proteins of our body. And so thanks to this fantastic chemical factory called the body, that the meat of the animals is transformed into ‘human meat’.

medical point of view, but then many of readers would not have benefitted.
thanx!
It reminded me
of my biology classes and you have explained it so well. A part that might cover a page or 3 or be even a chapter is explained here so well.
