Happiness
Did you know who is the most happiest man on earth? The happiest man is he whose thinking and action are co-ordinated. The more of your action and thought are correlated, allied and integrated the more effective they become and the happier you grow.
Happiness is a state of joy, pleasure, goodness, or satisfaction. Happiness, is after all, an inner state of mind. It is a little dependent on outside environment. Happiness has very little to do, for instance with whether you are rich or not rich. Some times the most rich and the influential people may be the most miserable and sad persons. It is true that poverty makes one miserable in a very acute way. A person not having any specific means may be distressed and dismayed to a larger extent, but on the same he may be a very self-reliant and content man and yet be the most satisfied one and in a happy state of mind. To be straight, it is not the wealth, but the co-ordination of one’s thought and action which makes to remove the inner conflicts and ambitions. It is thus in this way that the integration of personality is achieved.
All human beings want “happiness,” an active, engaged realization of their innate capacities, but this goal can be achieved in a multiplicity of ways. It is only possible if we ascertain what was morally justifiable by applying the principle of utility. Our actions are right if they tend to produce the greatest happiness for the greatest number of people. Therefore we can simply anlyse the happiness to be equivalent to pleasure. Through a kind of moral-mathematical calculation of pleasures and pains, one could tell what was a right or a wrong action. If all pleasures and pains were of the same order, then a utilitarian evaluation of moral, political, and legal activities would be possible. More over our social and moral values are based on the pleasures and pains we derive through our works.
