Why Don’t Children Obey Their Parents?

It is a major problem of parents today. Most of the parents complain: our children are problem, they don’t obey. If children’s desires are not fulfilled by their parents, they don’t want to listen to their parents and also disobey them. There are several reasons behind.

PAMPERING SINCE CHILDHOOD

These days families are very small. There are only one or two children in a family. Parents look after them very carefully. They give them every facility and fulfil their most of the demands. That’s why children become lazy and develop a habit of getting every thing easily. They don’t have the habit of labouring for something and then getting it. They know that parents will give them what they want. So they don’t want to struggle. Too much pampering that starts as soon as they come in this world actually spoils them.

LACK OF ETHICAL EDUCATION IN SCHOOL

It is the second reason behind the lack of a respective attitude in children. Generally in school children can’t get moral education. Schools concentrate mostly on theoretical education and fill their minds with facts. They only complete their syllabus. Personality development habit development activities are rarely there. Children mostly do what their teachers tell them. So, if moral education is given in a school children will respect their elders and obey them.

ATMOSPHERE CREATED BY MEDIA

Media has become a big power in our society. It is creating a wave of new culture. Children see advertisements of new products in TV. They want to buy them. If parents don’t bring the things which are desired by children, they disrespect their parents. Children want that their parents have duty to fulfil their demands but they forget their own responsibilities. Media need to impose self-discipline and fulfil their duty to create a healthy society.
