Childhood Lost

Too much pressure is being put on small innocent kids who are not grown enough to be in the schools, so early, at such a tender age. Kids are by virtue to be blissfully happy in the lap of mother.

Childhood is the time when they should be engrossed in playing with handful of toys. But sadly today mothers have changed their methods of showering love on their young ones. The tiny tot is given a harrowing task of appearing in an interview held by often none other than child psychologists.

Perhaps tiny tot is in no mood to favor the mother and father and is busy playing with games! They just do not realize that the child is not prepared mentally and physically to perform adequately till he assumes the age of five. But the parents are hyper and aggressive and put undue pressure on child to excel.

There is a constant fear of not getting admissions in good and renowned schools, fearing failure in interview they propel the child to cram and rattle two or three nursery rhymes! Mine had to mug up five. But it is very important to note that a child has a mind of his own and you cannot just control his notorious habits and passions.

Rather kids just end up as confused personalities, or may rebel and try to break free. Amusingly the most often asked question by anyone at this tender age is, What is your name? To which my kid replied “Kitni Bar Bataon Ki Mera Naam Karan Hai.” (How many times I would have to tell you that my name is Karan)
