The Steaming Cup Of Tea
Often our mornings are associated with a hot cup of tea so as to give a kick to a great day full of energy and activity. Tea has always been a preferred drink especially during the cold winter months. Often we ken to see tea stalls at every nook and corner with people sipping their cup of tea to dispel the cold on a wintry morning or to just energize themselves and kick start the morning.
Are you a tea stickler with a good taste for a good cup of aromatic tea, then would you believe that tea is catching on with people’s fancy to be offered at parties, boutiques or parlors or just in the quilt. The aroma of a richly brewed tea with dainty cups and a stylish kettle create an ambience of its own. Although this wonder beverage went through a rough patch in the recent times. This is because of changing life styles of the younger generation who had pushed it behind in preference to other soft drinks and beverages available on the shelf today. Tea is often associated with older generation and the infirm and also people suffering form some kind of diseases.
Recently we had had tele-shows like ‘Coffee with Karan’ which glamorized coffee drinking due to its association with celebrities. And lo, the wonder cup of tea lost its significance. People often invite others saying, “You are invited to a cup of tea.” But I think our age old traditional drink has suffered at the hands of cola and coffee culture and is lost somewhere in the city crowd.
