Agra, a historical city of India
Agra is the historical city located on the bank of holy River Yamuna in Uttar Pradesh, India.It is generally accepted that at the period of Mahabharta It was called as Agraban.Agra is a part of Brijbhumi the place related with the birth of Lord Krishna. Today, Agra is the one of the prominent destination of the world tourism because of it’s many splendid Mughal –era buildings, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, Itmad-Ud-Daulah's Tomb, Jama Masjid, Ram Bagh, Sikandra (Akbar's tomb), Mariam's Tomb, Mehtab Bagh, Chini Ka Rauza, out of which Taj Mahal is one of the saven wonder of the world.Taj Mahal was built by Mughal emperor Shahjahan in the sweet memory of his beloved queen Mumtaj Mahal, that’s by it is called as “Taj Mahal”. It is not a just of city of gravyard but, vibrant centre of art, craft and culture. It is famous for handycrafts such as marvel work, leather work, brass and copper work, carpet, jwellery and embryodary work.the noticable fact is that inspite of various foreign invasion both by ruler and culture,city still retain its unique identity. There were so many ruler came to india and ruled on Agra but It earned more identity and fame during Mughal period
