SEX EDUCATION IS NOT A DIRTY WORD.

Sex education has always an irking issue even when it started in western countries, and it is a matter of hot debate in Asian countries, especially in India.
A sex education programme and syllabus developed by the ministry of human resource development, the National AIDS Control Organization had been very irking issue with conservative groups across many states in India, and it was hastily withdrawn.
It is also important to understand the extent of sexual activity among adolescents and the problem of child sexual abuse.
In fact, sexual activities among children enjoys social sanction, thanks to the institution of child marriage here in India, and it is almost true in other Asian countries.
Child sexual abuse is a problem in India that cannot be brushed aside. A recent study carried out pointed that 53% of the child respondents were abused at least once and that majority of children did not report sexual abuse or rather to say they did not know what had been done with them.
South Asian, and particularly India, is known to be one of the biggest sources and destinations for human trafficking. Young children, both boys and girls, are trafficked for commercial sexual exploitation.
Given these facts of India and Asian countries, sex education is a need of this hour, at least the children at the age of 14 should know the fact, the risks, and most importantly the consequences.
The countries, which have banned the sex education in the school, are not reading the writings on the walls.
