A TRUE GIFT
It is a common practice in India, that during Diwali the family members go to say Namaste to the elders of the family.
it is generally believed that Namaste should be accompanied with some costly gifts.
on one such occasion when I went to see my mother,I took a sari to give as a respect-gift to her.
I did not however knew that my younger son who is barely 12 years has also purchased a gift for his grand-mother.
when I gave the sari , my mother was happy and we chit- chatted as usual.
however, during this conversion my younger son took a small bottle of Vaseline and gifted it to his grand-mother telling that she shall need during winter, when hands get dried.
The effect was dramatic, my mother was virtually in tears of joy.
This really opened my eyes, in stead of giving some costly gifts to the persons whom we love the most , we should give them something that they need the most, our pure love.
