What all things you should consider-

1) What are your family values ?
2) What type of personality you want your child to inherit?
3) What you want your child should become, like scientist, doctor or engineer ,so that school should have all the activities matching your criteria.
4) Look for school which is nearby to your home.
5) Estimate your finances and decide which school expenses are accommodated in your budget.

Various options includes-

a) Your Neighbourhood school - You will always try that school should be nearby to your residing place , so that its easier for you as well as your child. If parents are working then the best option is, school should be nearby .But for that you have to first evaluate in which school your child can attend either charter schools or magnet schools.

b) Charter Schools- Charter schools are public schools that are liberated from some of the traditional school regulations required by the state. These schools are bound by charter agreements granted by local school boards. If they don't meet the requirements of their charter, they can be shut down. So you can decide if your child meets the requirement of charter schools , you can easily opt for that.

c) Magnet Schools- Magnet schools generally have a particular focus, such as art or technology, or follow a different structural organization, such as mixing different grade levels within one classroom, or operating on a year-round schedule.

d) Private Schools- These schools have their own regulations and own criteria for admissions. They don't get any funds from the state. Management of school decide their own fees structure and norms which are to be followed by the students.

e) Home Schooling - If you don't want to send your child to public or private schools then you can opt for home schooling, see the interest of your child and accordingly you can assign a tutor for your kids.
Once you have chosen the school , you can enquire about that school development statistics, progress in recent years. Go through the website of the school . Check to see if the school has Parent Reviews posted. Parent Reviews tell the story of the school behind the numbers -- the quality of the teachers, level of parent involvement, principal's leadership and extracurricular activities. Try to visit a school for once or twice and collect the reviews from the students and parents.

When you are satisfied with all these and get the answers of all the queries, then you can find out the requirements needed for the admission like date of birth certificate, proof of your address and your child's health and immunization record.

Once your child gets admission in school, your responsibility towards him increases. You have to enrol yourself in his studies, in his activities and everything. That time he demands more attention.
