Neem Side effects

Raw neem, its extracts and finished products are becoming increasingly popular because they are not only natural but also do not have any side effects. Neem products have been used by households for personal consumption in the form of cosmetics, medicines, dental products, skin care products for a long time, they are also increasingly used in animals such as animal feeds, animal medicines etc.

Some side effects have however been reported in certain cases:

-Personal allergy to neem should be tested at the onset of neem use.

-Though neem insecticides and pesticides do not have any side effects but use in large quantities might possibly have certain negative effects.

-Numerous studies of possible toxicity of neem have led to a conclusion that leaf and bark of the tree are quite low in toxicity. It has been reported that large quantities of neem seed, leaf consumption has led to certain side effects in animals.

-According to research conducted by USA and other countries, neem oil extracts have found to be safe, if taken in limited dosage over a period of time.

HI Rakhi.

At last some one tells me I can be allergic to Neem! I found this out when I got chicken pox and my Mother-in-law brought me a bundle of neem leaves saying that it was good to keep with me. I broke out in a rash that was worse than the chicken pox, similar to prickly heat and was terribly uncomfortable. Since then I was careful about the way I came in contact with neem. I found that even soap that had neem as an ingredient brought on the rash. We used neem seed to look after our crops and kept away when this was sprayed. Excellent in controlling bugs in organic cultivation of crops.

Have a nice Day,
Always,
