Girls=homes, boys=hostels

IT'S A GIRL THING :
Even a hostel room is transformed into a comfortable home
There is something fundamentally wrong, classifying men and women together under the same species, given that they're so incorrigibly different.
And nowhere is it more evident than in their living quarters. Put two girls in an apartment , and they instantly transform it into something they can proudly call home; put two guys in any living space, and watch it rapidly devolve into a men's hostel.
We could have always dismissed this as one of those mysteries of the universe, but it was too much fun to pass-up; besides, we thought this would explain, especially to all those exasperated wives, why men regularly leave newspapers in the loo, forget to water the plants and never appreciate new chintz curtains.
It's different!
Perfumed candles, potpourri and indoor plants — girls seem to know just how to highlight every nook and cranny; guys of course, hang the dartboard there.
The basic attitude towards a house is very different for guys and girls. For a girl, it's a place to unwind and relax, to have friends and family visiting; for a guy, it's merely a place to crash every night! Which is probably why you rarely see family photographs adorning bachelor-pads; its usually film-stars in skimpy... well, we wont get into details, but we suppose you get the drift...
The difference between girls and boys is like "heaven and earth". Conversely, clutter is anathema to most women, and even the most stoic of them have been known to weep when they spot two grains of dust!
For boys, their world revolves around gadgets
Well, now that we've established that men live blissfully oblivious to their surroundings, we'll move on to `why'.
Looking beyond the fact that guys have testosterone - instead of oestrogen - coursing through the veins, one of the most obvious reasons could be that they're considered far more `practical' than women.
If something doesn't have a solid purpose, boys really don't think it should be there! Won't a plain bookshelf do? Why must it have designs on it. This is perhaps why men are happy to go through life without cushions, drapes, and flowers with nothing to adorn their living areas but powerful music systems, and big, flat televisions. Bah!
Getting there:
Does that mean that guys — in their bachelor days at least — are doomed to drab, boring houses? Not really, because boys're learning from the girls. Still, boys laments that the girls have got a head start, all because they were given dolls and houses to play-with, whereas boys are only given soldiers and cars!
Aha! So all that it takes to refine men and introduce some panache into their lives is to get them to spend time with the opposite sex! Easy, eh?

Girls are the home-makers, yes Uma,
and you have stated very right, the reasons too are very exact from toys to testosteron, all make that difference. But only one thing i disagree is that they have to spend time with opposite sex, itz becoz, i have seen many homes where the boys don't have sisters and they become daughters for their mothers. They know more girly things than those having sisters, even they can make rangolis on festivals.
Thanks for your feedback Vaishali
I agree with you.But girls are capable of keeping their surroundings much cleaner than boys. Most boys don't bother to clean their rooms and leave others to do it for them.
