Why Do People Blog?

Nobody thought that blogging would someday become the favorite pastime of millions of people worldwide. People just want to blog whether they get money or not. Most of the blog sites do not provide any monetary benefit for bloggers still they are running successfully.
Main aim of blogging is to express, have fun and make a few friends who can share our feelings and views. If we are also able to earn a pocket money then it provides a better feeling.
I have been blogging on various sites for a long time. And I have never used any adsense code to earn money. I write for self-satisfaction and fun. What's bad in that? Millions of people are like me. Aren't they?
