Conversation Practice : Would be Husband

Sophia: Good morning, Maria!

Maria: Hello Sophia, good morning! How are you?

Sophia: Extremely fine.

Maria: What brings you here today? Your face is beaming (lighting) with joy.

Sophia: Yes, I am happy, life is so wonderful. And today I have come to meet you on purpose.

Maria: What’s it? I guess it is something concerned with romance.

Sophia: How do you know it?

Maria: Your eyes are telling all.

Sophia: You are a psychologist dear. Let me open my heart to you. I am in love.

Maria: So sweet! Who is the lucky fellow?

Sophia: He is my office colleague, his name is Sunil. Do you remember I had introduced you to a tall young man when you came to my office last month.

Maria: Very Good. He is handsome and intelligent. Such a cute (attractive, smart) and nice man is not easy to find nowadays. I didn’t have an idea that you were intimate (close) with him. Now tell me how did you win his heart?

Sophia: The feeling of love just engulfs (cover or surround completely) you naturally, you are not aware. Should I marry him?

Maria: You can’t find a better husband. But there may be hurdles (problems, difficulties). Will your parents agree? There is age difference, and he is a Hindu by religion.

Sophia: Love is greater than anything else. I hope your love will win at last. Although my parents are Christians yet they are not narrow-minded (intolerant, who can’t tolerate). They themselves had a love-marriage. So I don’t expect any big problem. I shall be able to persuade them.

Maria: Then you are in heaven. But I want to give you one advice.

Sophia: Welcome.

Maria: I think Sunil has a simple and sincere nature. So don’t try to twist him around your finger (make someone dance around figure), smart girl. (Both of them laugh...).

Sophia: I am confiding (telling in confidence) my feeling to you as you are my close friend. I hope you will help me in case I am in trouble.

Maria: Don’t worry. You’ll be able to overcome every difficulty. You are a wise girl.
