Stories

A great sage was passing through a road.In the way,he saw a one rupee coin laying unclaimed on the road.He was an ascetic and very very satisfied with his life.Why should he then need the coin?,"Better donate it to someone poor,who really need it."The sage thought.

The sage them went on to search for a poor person.But he was not able to find any single person who was really a poor,"Anyway,next day I may find one!"The sage thought.

Next day he searched and surveyed another side of the country.But again he could not succeed in his mission,as none proved or seemed poor to him.The sage decided to stop his search for the day and get back to his hermitage,disappointed.

Third day when he was going somewhere he saw the king and his armed troops moving through the same road.The king and his armed force seemed in hurry and looked somewhat in aggressive mood,shouting victory slogans.

"Perhaps they are going to invade or attack some country to win over,"The sage thought.

"The king deserve this coin,certainly!"saying this he suddenly took out the coin from his hand bag and threw it over the king.The aim was perfect.It hit on the forehead of the king.The king ordered to stop his chariot and looked angerly at the sage who was smiling.

The king roared,"How you dared to do this idiotic to me...Don't know who am I?I am the king-The emperor!"

The sage replied very calmly,"My Lord...It is not my fault.Just two days ago I found that coin and decided to donate that to someone who is really poor,sadly I did not find any...except you!"

"What are you talking about...I'm not a poor I'm a king...!"The king tried to argue.

"No you are not what you think to be but a very poor person.Who despite being a king of this country and having rich treasure,going to invade and attack yet another for wants of more money...Now you tell me who is more poorer than you...!"

The king realised his mistake.He apologized to the great sage and got back to his barrack with his armed force.
