Is teaching more than a profession?
T - Talented,
E – Educated
A – Active
C – Courageous
H – Honest
E - Eligible
R - Reliable.
To become a teacher one needs to be talented, educated, active, courageous, honest, eligible, and reliable. How many persons are able to have all these qualities? It is very easy to be called teacher but becoming a teacher in the true sense is the toughest task.
It is easy to get a required degree to become a teacher. Degrees are even sold. There are many teachers who are not having talent at all. They are like trained parrots. They keep teaching the old things to the children and when children are unable to rote the things like their teachers did in their schools they are punished. Even after having degrees in their hands teachers are not educated. They are orthodox. They do not help children develop their own thinking pattern regarding life, religion, social system and so on.
These so called teachers are not active at all. They keep wasting their most of the time in gossiping and do not help children complete their syllabus on time and before examination just burdened the children with so many projects and lesions. Word courage is not in the dictionary of these teachers. They are not courageous. They do not dare to speak even if children are exploited mentally and physically in their schools by their fellow teachers or principal. They keep their mouth shut. They are not honest to their profession. They do not even hesitate to take bribe to promote the children to next class.
The persons who are having so many negatives can never be eligible for the honorable post of teacher. And those persons who are not eligible can never be reliable. Such an important work like teaching can never ever be given to these people.
As I have written above it is very easy to be called teacher but it is the toughest task to become a teacher in true sense. Only a few are capable enough to do so. Being a teacher myself I feel I can grasp the things I have mentioned as I daily communicate with these so called teachers.
My dear friend here are free to express their views as it will help me to take this subject in a wider sense.

Teaching is not a profession. it is a vocation. teachers are important pillars of the society who show the way. therfore their lives have to be transparent too. teachers should not be stumbling block for others.

Teaching is more than a profession Vanshika
A teacher is not just a teacher but a mother as soon as a child enters the school premises.In fact a teachers responsibility is more than a parent's.
My son first class teacher has become a great friend of mine.I go and meet her often at school and we discuss other things apart from teaching.She is one shining example of a person who could fashion great students from ordinary ones.
May be all teachers are not so.But we as parents have to give all the support to the teachers if we want our children to shine.

that teachers are never paid enough for their work. Todat itself i read one more article about teachers here,and there too i wrote this, that as they do an important work of moulding the characters of children and youths, they should be paid enough, so that they take required interest in their work.

teacher get hansome salary. In some cases they may not be getting. But teachers responsibility is to help children develop. They should not bother too much about salary. Satisfaction in helping a child to be a successful and nice person is more than money. Though money is something yet it is not everything. Those who are very much concerned about money they should not think about teaching. There are many fields to earn money. Keep writing.

yet one should be having the right knowledge to mould the students to become good human beings with great careers.It is a sensitive and challenging job.Teachers should be very intelligent and should get very high salaries.

teaching is a very noble
profession. But now it is purely seen as acommercial activity. Todays teachers are not devoted towards student as students are not devoted to their teachers. The relationship between teachers and students is not up to the mark these days. Specially teachers of college are not serious about their profession.
