Urvashi Sharma: Not a ritualistic person

I'm not a very ritualistic person. I don't believe in wearing rings, amulets, lucky charms to appease a particular deity. For me, spending quality time with God is more important than anything else. Every day i invoke God as soon as I wake up and just before going to bed. My conversations with God are personal and fulfilling.

I don't think God wants us to keep running to a temple ten times a day, paying obeisance to Him. God wants us to do our work and do it well and give thanks to Him. I'm a strong believer in the 'work is worship' philosophy. If i'm at work, my mind is totally focussed. I don't need to meditate or chant a mantra to be able to focus. I love my work, it keeps me ticking. It's when I'm not working that my mind tends to wander.

Life is a rollercoaster ride. You win some, you lose some. It's in the face of testing times that a person's true character is revealed and strengthened. I believe in enjoying the good times and learning from bad experiences. In fact, if we didn't have sorrow, we would never learn to value joy.

I try not to hurt anybody. But i'm not superhuman and i do make mistakes. I believe that making a mistake is better than not doing anything at all. My father has always given me the freedom to do as i please and learn from mistakes. I never want to regret not having tried something i really set my heart on. In any field, there's always a 50-50 chance of success or failure. If you don't try, you lose the 50% chance of succeeding.

I have heard success changes people. I'm sure it won't change me. For my loved ones, i will always be who i was. I'm very excited at this important juncture in my life. The world is my playground and i'm ready to embrace it with open arms.

Hello Guru

I thought that this was about you. It is about someone else, probably an Indian celebrity I believe? It makes sense and to also realise that God is what he is and where he is. Given today's technology breakthroughs people have more opportunities for self improvement and sustained development, provided of course that hard work is employed in getting there.

Have a nice Day,
Always,
