can we have some wine please ?

Can a person drink wine for medicinal values in it ?
The health benefits of wine are, in modern times, acknowledged to be minimal. Although there is some research to suggest that moderate consumption of red wine can lead to decreased instances of heart disease and longer life expectancy.
The deep, beautiful purple-red color of red wine is produced by a substance called anthocyanin, which is found in the skin of the grape. In addition to the color of red wine, we can thank anthocyanins for the deep red-purple-black color of black olives; and the berry-red color of strawberries, cherries, and raspberries.
Anthocyanin is one of the four main groups of chemicals that together are called flavonoids. Found in many plants and especially in deeply colored fruits and vegetables, flavonoids are important chemicals in plants
Fermentation is the process where the grape juice is joined by other ingredients resulting in a chemical reaction that produces wine.
The formula for the fermentations process is: sugar, added to yeast yields alcohol and carbon dioxide. The yeast, added to the grapes converts the natural sugars contained in the grapes (glucose and fructose) into ethanol and carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide is then released from the wine mixture into the air and the alcohol remains.

Pour one for me please, Padmini
We do have preparations in Ayurveda here as well and I think they are called "arishtas" (I may have got the spelling wrong, but it sounds that way!)Don't know for what purpose though. I never had it. My life saving experience was a thick black bitter, foul smelling and tasting brew boiled down from herbs and some other stuff.
Have a happy day!
