American church ordered to pay damages for cheering fallen marine's death

It has been reported that an anti-gay American church has been ordered to pay US$10 million in damages to the relatives of a fallen American marine after church members cheered his death at his funeral.

The federal jury in Baltimore determined that the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, and three of its principals invaded the privacy of the dead man's family and inflicted emotional stress at his funeral.

Marine Lance Corporal Matthew Snyder died in combat in Iraq in March 2006.

He didn't drown in some obscure gay sauna in San Francisco - he was killed in combat in Iraq.

In any case his bereaved father testified that his late son was not gay anyway, but this particular church ( perhaps its the Church of Satan I have written about)has targeted the military as a symbol of America's tolerance towards gays.

Church members said the soldier's death was punishment for America's tolerance of homosexuality. Give me breath, America, if this is an example of your country's religion?

All I can say personally is that it is not the God I know, if of course this was true. Actually I'm a little shocked. Jesus Christ would have condemned that church and its members outright!
