Destinies unknown

The story was also meant to say that every one has his own destiny: It could mean that unknown to us, we are all part of a greater plan ...... like the king of birds who had to carry a small bird many kilometers to its destiny..& to ful fill his own destiny

I am sorry that i could not convey it effectively.

Lord Vishnu left Garuda, his vehicle outside the Gates to enter Kailas. Some time later Yama, the Lord of death, came to Kailas to see Lord Shiva.
While entering the gates, Yama looked quizzically at a small bird on a near-by tree.
Garuda thought: “he is going to kill this poor bird. I will save it”.
He took the bird in his beak, flew to Dhandhaka-aranya many thousands of Kilometers away, left the bird in the hollow of a tree & flew back.
When Yama came out of Kailas, Garuda, very triumphant, asked him: “why were u staring at the small bird”.
Yama replied carelessly: “Oh. . that bird ! ! I was wondering how come it was here. He was destined to be killed within a few minutes by a snake living in the hollow of a tree in Dhandhaka-aranya..”
