SCHOOL DAYS MEMORIES.............

SAINIK SCHOOL

I was too young than when i joined the school. General people perceive it as a school from where defence personals were generated. But actually it is not so. It is a school as like the other schools but strictly for the male students.

Unlike other schools, it is a school where more importance is given upon all round development of the student, not only his educational development. The student must maintain strict discipline, table manners while eating,stick to time frame, and lot more which comes under discipline.

Our school was headed by a Colonal, OUR PRINCIPAL, and a Major, our head master.

I would love to discuss the time schedule of our school days.

We have to leave the bed by 5.00am to 5.30am so as to prepare ourself for our morning physical training or NCC session from 6.00 am.We have to have our bath in the morning itself with cold water, even in winters. After an hour of physical training or NCC(we called it DRILLS), we march back to our hostels. We change to khaki uniforms and march to the dining hall, a single room hall accommodating more than 700 students and teaching & non-teaching staffs. After our breakfast, we again head for our main school building for our regular classes from 8.00am onwards.

Before our classes, we have a praying session, we call it morning ASSEMBLY, where news reading and a speach on some special and unique topic were said by the selected students(which comes in turn to every student). There will be a speach from the Principal or Headmaster too on regular basis. After the Morning Assembly, we move into our classrooms.......
