A Parrot That Saved Lives!

How many of us like to have pets. We have many choices but those who keep parrots as pets have some good news. They can save your life if they are trained to in case of emergencies. One such parrot is ‘Peanut’. Read on to see how this parrot acted almost like a fire alarm.
Peanut likes to imitate sounds, and this helped a man and his son to save their lives from a house fire by mocking a smoke alarm.
The bird’s owner Shannon Conwell, 33, said he and his nine-year-old son fell asleep on the couch while watching a movie. They awoke at about three a.m. to find their home on fire after hearing the family’s parrot, Peanut, imitating a fire alarm. “He was really screaming his head off”, Conwell said. The smoke alarm had activated, but it was the bird’s call that caught Conwell’s attention.

My friends had an African
My friends had an African Grey and a Dachshund called Peanut. No one could ring the bell of the house or open the door when he would screech out Peanut, Peanut, Peanut. I had a ringed parakeet and when the phone rings it would go on screeching till someone picked it up and then would say "ello, ello" Pets are wonderful but I don't like them caged or tethered. My pets are free to go where they please. I raised an orphaned squirrel who went out on his jaunts all day and crept in at sundown and went straight for my pillow. He would nip any one whom he thought would harm me. Animals and birds do have some intelligence.
My Message of the Day is:
Life is short. Break the rules. Forgive quickly. Kiss slowly. Love truly. Laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that made you smile.
Have a nice day!

You are right
Sylvia. No animal should be kept in captivation. It holds for every animal and every bird.I like to see them free too.
