We Build Our Lives

An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. He told his employer-contractor his plans to leave the house-building business to live a more leisurely life with his wife and family. He knew that he would miss the pay check each week. But he wanted to retire.

His employer was very sad to leave a good worker and requested him to construct a house as a personal favour. The carpenter said yes, but over time his heart was not at work. He had a finalised intention of retirement in his mind. Hence he used all inferior materials and lacked perfection. It was an unfortunate way to end a dedicated career.

When he has almost completed the construction of the house, the employer came to his house for inspection. Then he handed the front-door key to the carpenter and said-"This house is yours and my gift to you".

The carpenter was shocked. If he had known, he was building his own house he would have done it in a different way.

It is in our hands. we build our lives often putting less efforts and later we realise we have to live in the house we built.

But we cannot go back. Everyone of us is like a carpenter in this story. The actions which we do today will reflect tomorrow. Since life is a house to be build upon, every moment of the life represents the materials used to construct the house. Fostering flourishing moments would be a similie of superior materials chosen.
Hence build every moment of your life wisely!!!
