Is your tongue good enough to be a taster ?

All human beings have five external senses – sight, touch, smell, hearing, and taste. Our interpretation and understanding of the world in which we live is based on these five sensory inputs. What they are able to tell us about the world we inhabit, however, is far from the only data available. While our senses allow us as organisms to interpret our environments, they do not provide us with all the possibilities for sensory input.
Humans do not have uniform senses. Those entirely lacking certain normal human sensory perceptions aside (like the deaf or blind), some individuals possess certain genetic abnormalities or variations that allow them heightened or lowered senses in comparison to the average person. For example, the average human has approximately 184 taste buds per square centimeter; however, there are those who can boast 425 taste buds per cm2 and those who can only claim around 96 taste buds per cm2 – super tasters and non-tasters, respectively; the former group has a greater than normal sensitivity to taste, while the latter has a less than normal sensitivity.
Tongue can give you pleasant or unpleasant perceptions based on what you consume. It also absorbs some certain foods and medicines when they are in subtle form. When a person is sick the tongue ‘s capacity to taste decreases. When a person eats wrong food at irregular timings and does not take care of the tongue then diseases could manifest.
Here are some tips to get rid of small ulcers that you get on your tongue or anywhere in your mouth.
Apply pure honey repeatedly. This helps heal faster and is safe.
Or one could apply ghee or a combination of both.
Chewing dry copra-coconut with cardamom helps.
Drinking castor oil (1/4 –1/2 or 1 tea spoon) in warm milk or water at bedtime is beneficial to get rid of ulcers of the oral cavity, constipation, and digestive problems.
To prevent the re- occurrence one should gargle warm cooking oil early morning after brushing your teeth.
If your ulcer does not heal fast then don’t neglect it.
