Digital Revolution To Beat The Film Pirates...!!

Releasing a new film has been difficult and a risky thing in India.When a film get released for theaters,physically transported and carted,from one city to another-piracy happens in between.Film piracy steals and takes away about 40% of revenue,making illegal copies and spoiling the expected potential market.

But it seems the Indian film industry-specifically the producers,distributors and exhibitors-have found a great D-solution to beat the pirates.Thanks digital revolution which is not only saving huge production cost of a film but has made distribution of films more easier and risk free.

To beat the pirates the film distribution has taken an air el route.The communication satellites being used for transmitting film direct to theaters in a smaller towns and far-off places.Distributors and exhibitors are now able to screen the film in initial weeks of a film release.

The digitally transmitted or say D-released films have better,sharp and crisp picture quality than the spool reels but has an extra ability to rectify col ours of the images.Digital prints,however,require a special projector that may be cost around Rs.40 lakh and a transmission equipment to beam the film.

While a digitaly released film print cost between fifty thousand to one lakh rupees for distributors.The storing of a movie in hard drive would be not more than mere rs.4000-plus a small investment in setting up the digital technology in movie halls.
