New Zealand
New Zealand is an independent state in the Pacific Ocean, in the south west of Australia. New Zealand consists of two principal Islands (North and South) separated by the Cook Strait and several minor islands. Wellington is the capital of New Zealand and Auckland is the largest city. Maoris are the aborigines of New Zealand. In 1893 New Zealand became the first country in the world to give women the right to vote.
New Zealand is a Constitutional Monarchy. Queen Elizabeth-II of Britain is also the queen of New Zealand. But practically she has no great powers. The Legislature, Prime Minister and cabinet run the national government. Tasman sea lies in between Australia and New Zealand.
Antartica
Antartica is the 5th largest continent in the world. It is almost entirely covered by an ice cap. Therefore it is called the “white continent.” The Vinson Massif is the highest mountain in Antartica. The continent is circular in shape and no human beings lived there. Ross sea is the sea lies between Antartica and New Zealand. The Norwegian Ronald Amundsen was the first to reach the south pole on December 4, 1911. The only Indian post office outside India is at Antartica.
