What is Global…??!!

Everything is global these days…! What does this mean in the real sense? Bringing all unwanted attitudes and cultures home? Bringing human hearts together? Making the world small? Spreading and mixing cultures and knowledge? Marketing worldwide? Forgetting ourselves? Adopting practices of other geographical regions?
It could be all of the above mentioned and much more…! As in all cases, there are both pros and cons in globalization. In one way it is helping us to understand each other and different cultures. On the other hand, it is spoiling the ‘self’ and making people adopt practices which are not really suitable to the country or climate.
Indian philosophy always believed in “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” principle. That is “The whole world is one family”. This is of course, not for global marketing or to encroach upon others’ territory but to feel all human beings as our siblings/relatives and to have compassion, courtesy, sympathy and empathy towards sufferers.
That is “Real Globalization”…….. Let us pray for that and hope for that day…!

Definitions differ from individual to individual !!
What is globalisation?
There are many different definitions of globalisation, but most acknowledge the greater movement of people, goods, capital and ideas due to increased economic integration which in turn is propelled by increased trade and investment. It is like moving towards living in a borderless world.
Ha..ha..ha....
This is ofcourse the dictionary meaning of globalisation, but it depends on countries and individuals too, how they maximise the benefits and minimise the challenges of globalisation.
There are both pros and cons associated with it, and its upto you, how you cope up with it. Where here are benefits like bringing hearts together, at the same time there are disadvantages of spreading HIV/AIDS, SARS and bird flu across borders.
Your thoughts and dreams regarding it are very good, but such thoughts must be adopted by the major economic powers and institutions like WTO,which can work against the interests of developing world.
If they have thoughts like you, the world can be turned to heaven very soon!!
Interesting topic, keep it up !!!!
