While Mama has been coursing and denouncing all those smutty and dirty dancing music vedios,the almost forgotten Burlesque has come back with much zeal and enthusiasm.

This old striptease dance form of swiveling hips and spangled lingerie has now been revived for intellectuals(!)Burlesque refers to a theatrical entertainment of broad and parodic hum our,that first flourished in depression era.Some relates it to an Italian art of commedia dell'arte.Obviously,going to give a tough competition to other dance forms like -Belly and Poll dance.

In the rural areas of Maharashtra state of India,yet another attractive and colorful folk dance drama form Tamasha is very popular.Because of their unique dance style and fast pace music bits,they are into films and music vedios with revived format.

But decades ago,before getting recognition as a traditional folk art,the social,economical and physical condition of these dancing girls was not good.They were oppressed,abused and defamed.Due to financial crisis they had had to compromised their dignity.They begin to entertain rural audience with obscene dance and remarks.

Tamasha play run its show throughout the year and closed for just four months.In between those period they were being utilized by their big fans,well-wishers and owners.Tamasha girls were not allowed to get married.They'd to live like a kept.Even,kicked out when they'd get old and useless.

The birth of a girl child was considered to be auspicious one.The mother would usually tag their name with daughter's name as they did not know the name of their actual father!
