Bridging the Generation Gap

We often talk of a generation gap. The youth with there vigor and modern outlook and elders with their old –Fashioned ideas seem to stand at opposite poles. They often come in to clash with each other. The elders hold fast to the old values of life. The youth who have been brought up in the present age of rapid transformations do not try to understand the elders’ point of view. The youth feel checked if the old standards of conduct and behavior are forced down upon them.

So’ the main reason for the generation gap is the lack of communication between parents and children. In this busy life parents seem to have no time to sit with there children and share there feelings and ideas. Children feel emotional dryness and keep their distance from their parents’ .Neither the parents nor the children are prepared to make any sacrifice to understand and accommodate each other .the youth have one thing more to realize. They must not close their eyes towards the old values only because they are old. They must try to shift and learn the truth out of them. On the other hand, parents should welcome there new ideas if the youth are keen on bringing a health outlook on life.
With mutual faith and understanding, the old and the young will come closer. The generation gap will be removed.
