Shoucha - Purity-of body and mind.
Santosh - Contentment- as it is a continued feast
Tapa - Endurance -test it frequently if psosible
Swadhyaya- Self study -leads yo uto achieve bliss.
Eshwar Pranidhan- Dedication-it helps you in all areas of life -these are included under the second branch of yoga-niyama-the sysnthesis of life is yoga as announced by -Sri.Aurobindo.
THese two steps of yama -niyama are to be taught while a child is young still if not it is parents who have done a wrong to the child and society.So teach this to your kids by being a role model.
Asan is not just making physcial postures ,it is one next step of yoga.If one does asana-postures without knowledge of it is worse than physical exercises.
A stable and comfortable posture which helps attain mental equilibrium is asana.
THere are many variations of this and for multi purpose one should perform it daily.
Rememeber the following before you start your asana practice
one should learn them from an expert.
Only after daily cleansing of the system one should do their practices.
Drinking water before this is allowed.If a person is obese they could benefit more by drinking lemon and honey in warm water before starting their practice.
One should perform yoga as per each person's capacity and not just because the whole class is doing.
Don't wipe away the sweat after your practice.
Don't do asana practices when you are sick,tired,having your monthly cleansing.
Be punctual and sincere in your daily practice.
If you have not started then start searching an expert who could teach you.Age of starting is not restricted if you are healthy and can find a teacher.
Shall we start to practice yoga again ?
