RISK BY LOSING WEIGHT
yOU CAN'T AVOID BREAST CANCER just by eating right and exercising.But,it might help.According to aBritish scientist women who watch their weight and exercise several times a week could slash the risk of developing breast cancer by nearly 40%.Their reserch shows that simple changes in lifestyle,includinglosing weight,cutting back on alcoholic drinks and exercising for at least three hours every week,are the best way of fighting the disease."Top of the list is losing weight ,"reaserchers have also recommended a deit rich in oily foods and low fat dairy products.The reserchers came to the conclusion after studting anumber of women. They found that the women who lost at least three quarters of a stone between the age of 30 and 50 "have a 40%reduced risk of breast cancer compared with the average women whose weight goes up during those years."However achieving the same weight loss after the age of 50 cuts the risk by 25%.According to the team as women put on weight , they develop inflammation in their fat stores, which stimulates breastcells to become cancerous."We think lifestyle changes could reduce the amount of cancer by well over one third over the next 20 years.If drugs were also used to prevent cancer ,and the number of women in long term use of hormone replacement therepy continues to fall .
