The quintessential sign of beauty in the Indian woman's make-up is the ‘Bindi’ !
A bindi not only makes a woman look attractive but, among married women, holds special significance. In fact, the make-up of an Indian beauty is never complete without a bindi. The bindi has changed with the changing trends and seasons. One should choose a bindi of an appropriate design, colour and shape to supplement one's beauty. It is rightly said that the bindi is the forehead beautifier !
If the forehead is large, then it is advisable to put the bindi 1 cm or 1'/2 cm above the eyebrow or in the middle of the forehead. Similarly, for a woman with a small forehead, the bindi can be applied between the eyebrows.
If the eyebrows are thick and heavy and the forehead is big, the bindi is best put in the middle of the forehead. For those women having thick eyebrows and a small forehead, a small bindi just above the eyebrows will be suitable. For small foreheads and eyebrows, it is advisable to put the bindi in between the eyebrows.
