Grey side to Pink. Life after pink slip

For many years i was the guy who used to tell people around that we all will have experienced atleast one pink slip during our careers, what with the indian economy changes,more western culture sweeping the way we live and conduct ourselves and the way how companies treat its so called manpower resources.

I also used to tell that this will be normal and will be taken normally by the society,peers, subordinates, seniors, other organisations, parents,wife, children.i said, the people will learn that the world has changed and ups & down of the world will invade personal life , and a downslide in one organisation will have no bearing on that individuals capabilities or abilities. the only question which will be asked would be, is this the right guy at a wrong place at a wrong time ?

i also told anyone who listened ,that layoffs would not be a bad idea to have a forced vacation ,and every individual should be able to enjoy the time so given by force, to spend more time with family,take up that hobby which was neglected due to lack of time, see all those movies u missed out, places u would hv wanted to visits. maybe visit your parents who have not been able to keep up with shifts to various places and companies( higher career jumps!!)

I told them ,and myself to certain extend, lets all be prepared to face the realities of the new economy.the truest example that India has arrived and how.

I got layed off last week , my boss called me to his cabin, unceremoniously told me that the company cannot afford to keep me , i will be given 3 months notice and i have to part ways with organisation with immediate effect.

I am not a IT guy, this was supposed to happen with all those software people , in companies which has thousands of employees and where salaries contribute to the largest cost to the company. not to some 200 strength company and that too to a guy who was sales and marketing. But then one part of my hypothesis came true. i have experienced my first pink slip.

as for the other part of my theories and statements,i am not too sure now. i am still to get over this change in my life. this is an attempt to understand what changes this new development,will bring to my life.
