What toys would your baby love?

There’s joy in your house and the source of it lies in a crib, sometimes serene, sometimes wailing. Irrespective of what a baby does, you are smiling just watching. The nursery is decorated even before the baby makes an appearance, and in all likelihood filled with toys and other baby items. You’ll later realize though that you could’ve done without most of those things cluttering the nursery. It’s really quite handy to know exactly what kind of toys a baby could play with and learn from.

Get toys based on the age of your child. There are variations in likes and needs of a newborn, a 6-month baby and a one-year-old child. Children younger than six months would usually love vibrant objects that catch their eye instantly and pique their vision. Keep sound based items like rattles in their crib. Babies will develop a sense of sound very early. Most babies start teething by the fourth month, so have a teether handy to ease their pain.

By six months, babies develop hand-eye coordination. They’ll also appreciate music and respond to it. Encourage them to move, and keep something that serves as a bait to crawl and reach out. Little ones love movement, so they’ll stay pretty satisfied sitting on a rocker or bouncer, while you’re busy with something else. So buy one of those. Once they turn one, they are walking around and exploring their surroundings. Get them toys that help in developing their mind and also satisfy their curiosity.

Kids will most certainly outgrow almost every toy you get for them, it’s inevitable. Just make sure you buy stuff that stimulates their brains and hastens their mental development at an early age. You can always buy sell items online to dispose of unwanted toys and buy new age-appropriate ones. So you can sell baby items, and find loads of takers. Disposing toys is not really a worry.
